My Altered Front Cover

I plan on taking my own version of these google images and trying to re-create them later on.

My Article

“It’s all about the girls, man” Lead Singer Tom Bell jokes and winks at fellow bass player Joe, as the band are sprawled out across their dirty clothes and old food thrown around their apartment. Its shown the band clearly have more care of their skater- rough and ready appearance than their living environment. “But seriously” Tom starts in the husky voice we are used to hearing from their debut single ‘Under your skin’ “We love the attention, but, for me anyway, its more about the thrill of people listening to your music and seeing them enjoying it as much as we do when were making it”.

The band formed last summer after all meeting at Leeds Fest and realized they all attended the same university. “We were inspired by the music that had enveloped us whilst at Leeds Fest, and felt we should have a go creating our own” Lead guitarist Ash Wray expressed. “Yeah I mean, we’ve all been playing since the age of like 6 or 7 so we knew what was expected of us”, drummer Callum Beverley informed us.

Now signed with leading indie label Stand Out, The Frames tweeked their image to fit in with the music genre and really promote their style of music. Their ripped black skinny jeans and oversized parkas emphasise their rough style and especially the leather jackets make the girls weak at the knee’s when linked with the masculine voices projecting their emotional lyrics.

Their first gig was at Fruit in Hull in November 2013. The band performed their debut single along with lots of new material they had been working on since September which proved to be a hit with the crowd as the screams roared through the bar and out onto the street. The nature and personality of the band oozes through their music that seemed to appeal to their listeners and their relatable and heartfelt lyrics had the girls screaming for more. It seems that The Frames have more to add to their newly found fame as their new album is being released at the beginning of 2014. It will be available from iTunes from the 2nd of February. IND*E suspect this band will maybe be the next Arctic Monkeys?

The original images that I have used in my front cover, contents page and DPS

All of my images

I didn't like these images as I felt they were too dark and that they needed to be re-done.

I re-took my original images to make them brighter so they had more of an impact when looking at them. For my new images I also changed a member of the band to make it appear more 'indie' and I also had them in a different position for the long shot so they were against a graffitied wall.

I photographed the band members from behind to add variety to my images and I liked the effect it had for my potential DPS.

I took these images as long shots so I could fit all of the band members in and it created depth in the image as the band members are positioned in a triangle type of position.

I photographed this image as long shot image so that the full outfit was visible to help portray the style of the magazine to the audience.

I took this image as a medium close up so you can see the face clearly yet the background still has a presence in the image giving it depth and a story almost.
