How I Made My DPS
This is the image I was planning on using but I discovered the lighting was not good enough on the image as the boy on the right can not be seen.
I then took some more photographs and tried to use better lighting. I also used a different area to take the image so the overall image had more depth.
This image was still a bit too dark so I used the brightness/contrast tool on Photoshop to make it brighter. I feel this image worked best overall after doing so.
I then started creating my double page spread by adding rectangles to the top of the page, and made it appear as if a banner was going across the page.
Next I started adding the text. I started by adding the name of the band using the same font I have been using throughout my music magazine and added a black stroke outline to the text.
Then in the same style I added an introduction into what the article was going to be about on the other end of the banner.
I then added a page number in the bottom left corner, the e-mail address of the magazine company on the bottom right hand corner, and branding graphic on the top left of the page.
I then added dummy text in the form of my article just so I could see what it would look like before i wrote my article.
